This feels like it is high quality and looks really nice, like it is part of my jacket. It is not the easiest to get onto some of my jackets, but on others it slides on just fine. One thing to note is that if you have a jacket that has a flap that covers the zipper, the adapter is wide enough that it pushes the flap up, so it doesn't look that great.
I must say, I also ordered a maternity winter jacket, and it ended up costing as much as the extender and the adapter. I ended up returning my maternity jacket as soon as my adapter came in the mail- the maternity jacket was not nearly as warm or high quality as my regular winter jacket and I love being able to wear the jackets I already own.
I also love that the adapter zips to itself, so you don't have to use the extender right away in your earlier stages of pregnancy.
The video on this page makes the adapter look a lot easier than it actually is to attach. Takes a while to get on a coat and definitely doesn't just slide on. I have a coat that just goes below my hips and the adapter is just a bit too long and it looks awkward. There are also some adapter clips and they are impossible to open. would think about just getting a maternity coat before purchasing this.
Fast delivery. ..great product fit perfectly on coat...would recommend buying this again
Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of MakeMyBellyFit. Like to the point where I can often be found espousing the wonders of your products to random strangers who notice my jacket extender and ask about it. I'm now on my second kiddo, using the jacket extenders through both pregnancies and now baby-wearing with #2. We live in rainy, blustery, chilly southeast Alaska, so having the ability to wear my usual jackets has been an absolute godsend.
Suffice it to say, I was primed to love the universal extender. My second kid was born in late winter, and my favorite warmer-weather rain gear doesn't work with the zip-in extenders, I had to get the universal attachment. I've used it daily since it arrived two weeks ago, and I still have yet to find a foolproof way to keep it in place on my jacket, it's constantly sliding up and down. As others have noted, the material is really thick, which is especially problematic when your zipper is shorter than 27" and you have to try to fold it over at the top -- the little included clips are ok I guess, but I can't manage to attach them in the way suggested, and actually have this keep the zipper folded out of the way and staying in one place. I've resorted to using binder clips (like the office supply, meant for keeping stacks of paper together) to supplement the small clips provided for this purpose.
The universal attachment attaches to the jacket extender flawlessly, so that part is fine. I just wish it weren't so difficult to adjust for shorter zips, and would stay in place better.
