Zipper Compatibility - How to spot Metaluxe
Your extender works with virtually every coat and jacket zipper — metal, VISLON, coil, reverse coil, taped coil and AquaGuard, in sizes #3 through #10.
There is one exception. Please don't attach the adapter to a Metaluxe zipper — damage may occur.
Spotting a Metaluxe in five seconds: it looks like polished metal and might be silver, black, gold or a darker gunmetal. But it's actually plastic. The teeth are tall and narrow with rounded, pointed tips, like tiny bottles stacked on their sides. True metal teeth are squat rectangles. VISLON teeth are chunky and wider than they are tall. They turn up most often on Rudsak and Mackage coats, and on certain O'Neil and Columbia models.
